Now is the time to submit recommendations to Governor Snyder and the Office of Regulatory Reinvention.  For the past few months the Liquor Control Rules Advisory Committee (LCARC) has been meeting to review the Liquor Control Code and alcohol related statutes.

Three problems with the LCARC :

1) Public Health and Safety was not adequately represented on the committee.

2) The lack of transparency.  Public health advocates wanted to attend the meetings and were turned away.

3) No one from the general public was represented on the committee.  This is inconsistent with the Governor's Executive Order.

A letter, "Mend It-Don't End It," that advocates for alcohol regulations is being circulated and your organization is encouraged to sign on to it.  Currently about 35 organizations have signed this letter to support alcohol regulations.  If your organization would like to sign on to the letter download it here

The mission of Michigan Alcohol Policy Promoting Health and Safety (MAP) is to advocate for laws and policies that reduce the illegal and harmful use of alcohol.  MAP is a grass roots organization with no paid staff or any formal funding.
